by Chef Jake Grant, Executive Chef of Euclid Hall
Jake Grant has grown up at Euclid Hall. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Grant moved to Colorado after high school where he applied and was accepted to University of Denver and Johnson & Wales University. He opted for the hands-on culinary program at JWU and graduated with an Associates degree. After a quick stint at The Corner Office, he signed on as an opening line cook when Euclid Hall debuted in 2010. He rose through the kitchen ranks, and was named Executive Chef in 2015.
Following Euclid Hall’s tagline of Crafted, Not Cranked Out, Grant describes his food as clean, simple, different, passionate. Euclid Hall is known for whimsical twists on culinary standards like Pig Ear Pad Thai and Bison Tongue Stroganoff. In Grant’s kitchen, the rules are straightforward and simple: show up on time, show up sober, and don’t lie.
The kitchen’s music choices follow Grant’s lead.
Says Grant, “In our kitchen the music always depends on that day’s vibe. Some days we come in and everyone is in a Tupac, Bone-Thugs or Underground Kingz kind of mood. On other days we like listening to Adell, Stone Temple Pilots, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.”
If Grant sneaks out of Euclid Hall before 2 a.m. he can be found at nearby Red Square for a wind-down cocktail or Meadowlark Kitchen for a snack.
He lives in Denver with his girlfriend Julia and their shelter dog Lobo.
